Gaza, 1400 dead. We will not forget!

This Sunday (26th of December 2010) marks the 2nd annual commemoration of the Israeli attack on Gaza. The world mourns the murder of more than 1400 Palestinians, including over 300 children during Israel’s operation “Cast Lead’, which left another 5,300 injured and 50,000 people homeless. Dozens of schools, mosques, factories and other key facilities were damaged or destroyed. Gaza is still under Israeli siege and justice is far from being delivered to the victims as the International community continues to turn a blind eye on Israel’s crimes against humanity.

Let’s join thousands of conscientious citizens around the world who refuse Israel’s impunity and the Zionist imperialist agenda in the world.

We, activists behind the Global Day to Break the Seige initiative are calling on supporters and activists all over the world to join us in another day of action to end Israeli seige on gaza.

Here is what you can do:

  1. Starting Monday the 27th, join us on Twitter to expose corporations that help fund Zionism. Let’s trend #boycottIsrael by tweeting thoughts, news links or facts about corporations like Marks and Spencer, Motorola, Nestlé, Ahava, Veolia and how they support Zionism.
  2. Be online starting 12pm Cairo time (5am New York time) and throughout the day. We want to get #boycottIsrael trending by the early afternoon and keep it trending through the night. Once we trend it, potentially millions of people will see the term and click on it to find out what it means and why it’s trending. Group tweeting is also a lot of fun and will connect you to many wonderful tweeps! Please sign up by tweeting @Hadilelkhouly or @ghadeerm
  3. On the 1st of January 2011, announce a new year’s resolution on your Facebook status: “I pledge to boycott companies that fund Zionist Israel: Marks and Spencer, Nestle, Motorolla, Ahava and Veolia”
  4. Marking the end of the attack on Gaza on the 21st of January, organize a protest, skit or any other event in front of branches of these corporations in your city. Events are already planned in Cairo and Kuala Lumpur.
  5. Let us know you joined! E-mail us your city and plans and pictures (if any) of your event to support@breaksiege.com. We will upload them on our website www.breaksiege.com so others can join.
  6. Spread the word! Encourage all your friends and family to also boycott these companies and products.

You can find information about corporations and products to boycott:

Boycott Israel
Innovation Minds
BDS Movement

Facts about Marks and Spencer‘s strong ties to Israel

We will intensify these actions during those dates, and we hope we can spread the message during the month commemoration the attack and beyond.

It’s short notice, but we can do it!!
