Second Annual Commemoration of the Israeli attack on Gaza
1400 Dead-Gaza we will not forget!
During the months of December/Janaury 2010/11, events are scheduled around the world to commemorate the deadly Israeli war on Gaza in 2008.We will update this list regularly to showcase these events. Please e-mail support@breaksiege.com with details of your event and pictures ( if any).
Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia:
Date:26th of December 2010
Event: Flashmob/freeze scene
By Azra Banu:
On 27th Dec 2008, Gaza was brutally attacked by Israel, leaving 1400 dead & countless others injured. Lives lost, destroyed, shattered. Reduced to ruins, Gaza remains in this state, cruelly denied the dignity of rebuilding itself.
Viva Palestina Malaysia in remembering the people of Gaza & all of Palestine put up a freeze scene depicting just a tiny fragment of life under the horrific occupation by Israel.
In no way could we even begin to capture what it means to be a people dispossessed, robbed, looted, forced out. Israel has stripped itself of all sense of decency & dignity. And yet the Palestinians remain unbroken, their spirit soar high, their courage legendary. And today, on the anniversary of the attack on Gaza, they are joined by thousands across the world as we stand in solidarity and say,
“Gaza, We Will Not Forget.”

- Protest to lift the siege on Gaza and truly open the Rafah crossing!
June5th has been announced as a Global Day of action to break the Israeli siege on Gaza. This comes at a time when the Egyptian system went to great lengths in hindering the entrance of aid and individuals through the Rafah crossing. It also greatly limits the materials allowed to enter through the crossing, which reveals the falsity of the claim that the Rafah border has been opened!
The demands are to end the siege completely, open Rafah borders permanently and allow all supplies to enter from Egypt and not pass through Israel.
This saturday is an international day of action to break the illegal siege of Gaza. The boat MV Rachel Corrie should be entering “troubled waters”, where the FREEDOM FLOTILLA MASSACRE happened on monday. Let us all rise with them, all in our local spots, united together by our anger and rage, together we can break this siege…
